Another stop on our venture out West was a weekend spent in Park City & The Great Salt Lake. Park City had been on our bucket list for quite some time & it most definitely did not disappoint. It just so happened that this weekend was our four year anniversary, so we decided to celebrate with a back country snow mobile adventure.
We went to Thousand Peaks Snowmobiling in Oakley, Utah. The ranch was beautiful but the tour guide made our first experience snowmobiling one we will never forget. We rode all the way up to 11,000 ft and had lunch at the peak. For beginners, we only flipped over twice & lived to tell the story.
After a fun morning of snowmobiling our next stop was the High West Distillery. There are actually two different locations, the Distillery itself & the Saloon Restaurant. I recommend going to both. The Distillery offers a great facility with a free tour followed by a taste testing. After, head downtown to Park City & try out the High West Distillery Saloon. There will probably be a wait, but there are so many places to walk around and see. Tons of restaurants/pubs/shops for the whole family to check out after a day of snowmobiling & skiing.
The Great Salt Lake Marina
After visiting Park City, we made our way back to Salt Lake City. We knew we couldn’t be this close to the Great Salt Lake and not go see it. It was picture perfect. There is a visitor center as well as a place to rent kayaks, perfect for those warm summer months.
Let me tell you all about the most under-rated State Park, Antelope Island. It was amazing! The views were to die for. There were buffalo everywhere you looked. Antelope Island had tons of places to stop and pull of to hike.
There was also a beach that you could walk and hangout on that offered a restaurant to stop and eat at. You could seriously spend a whole afternoon out exploring Antelope State Island & I totally recommend that you do.
We truly had such an amazing time in Utah. We covered a lot of ground in a short amount of time but everything was beautiful & we loved getting to mark it off our bucket list. For it being early March, the weather was wonderful!
Let me know if you have any questions at all about our time it Utah!
